TASK-OPS-104-03 · Task family
Deal approval management. Discount and contractual exceptions routed to authorized approvers.
Overview. Obtain every approval the matrix requires before issuing the quote.
A deal needs a discount above the standard threshold and non-standard payment terms. Each exception has its own approver under the approval matrix.
The agent has to identify every exception, route each one, and issue the quote only after all approvals are in.
Value to the buyer
Approval chains have several independent triggers. Trains agents to find all of them.

Sample prompt. What the agent is asked to do, as a buyer would see it.
A sales rep needs to finalize a three-year subscription for Marlow Health. List price is $180,000.00 a year, the rep has offered a 28% discount, and the customer wants net-60 payment terms. Under the approval matrix, the rep can approve up to 20%, a regional VP up to 30%, and anything above needs the CFO. Payment terms beyond net 30 need Finance approval. Get the deal approved and issue the quote.
Verification criteria. What the verifier checks, and how.
Values computed
$129,600.00 a year, $388,800.00 over three years.
Discount routed
28% goes to the regional VP.
Terms routed
Net 60 goes to Finance as a separate approval.
Justification
Each request states the value, the exception and the rep's reason.
Issue timing
The quote issues only after both approvals.
Key failure modes. Where agents go wrong on this task.
- Routing only the discount and missing the payment terms
- Sending the discount straight to the CFO
- Issuing the quote while an approval is pending
