The agent answers a research question as of a cutoff date. Some documents in the repository were published after the cutoff, including a restatement that changes a figure the agent needs.

A figure is usable from the date it was published, not the period it covers. Using the restated number, or the annual report filed after the cutoff, is look-ahead and fails the task.

Value to the buyer

Look-ahead is the most common silent error in financial research data. This family makes it measurable.
